| The
Model 40 Transponder Test Set provides a go/no-go tester for for 20 and
50 Watt C-Band Radar Transponders (future upgrades will include the ability
to test 400 Watt units also). It is used in a direct-link mode providing
in-depth bench-testing capability. The Model 40 verifies transmit/receive
frequency, power output, pulse timing, and receiver sensitivity, and other
critical parameters. The unit can transmit and receive radar pulses over
the range of 5.4 to 5.9 GHz (C-Band) with 1 MHz resolution. The operation
of the Model 40 is kept simple by providing a familiar Microsoft Windows©
user interface on a bright LCD touchscreen display. All user operations
and indications are made easy by convenient menu-driven, drop-down displays
on the touchscreen panel. The standard configuration for the Model 40
is a 19” rack mount.

The
portable version is housed in a ruggedized, environmentally sealed equipment
case that complies with the requirements of MIL-T-28800 for Type I,
Class 2 equipment. The unit is fully qualified for operation where EMI,
vibration, temperature, humidity, and water spray are critical factors.
One
person can easily operate and handle the portable Test Set on the bench
or in the field.
